Reviews

Critics were divided on the whimsical tone and visual style of 'Toys'. While some applauded director Barry Levinson for his bold and imaginative approach, others found the film's narrative to be disjointed and its themes heavy-handed. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a rating of 29%, noting that the movie struggled to balance its dark undertones with its playful aesthetic. IMDb scored it at 5.1/10, with mixed reviews highlighting Robin Williams' charismatic performance as a standout. Metacritic awarded it a score of 40/100, citing the film's ambitious vision but criticizing its execution. Despite the polarizing reception, 'Toys' remains a unique and thought-provoking cinematic experience that celebrates the power of imagination and the triumph of creativity over conformity.
