Reviews
Despite its intriguing premise and impressive visuals, '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' fails to fully deliver on its potential. Critics have pointed out the film's uneven pacing and lack of character development as major drawbacks. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a rating of 4.5/10, stating that while the underwater scenes are visually stunning, the story feels disjointed and the characters remain one-dimensional. IMDb users rated it at 5.1/10, with many praising the special effects but criticizing the script for lacking depth. Metacritic echoes similar sentiments, noting that the film struggles to balance its spectacle with a cohesive narrative. Overall, '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' is a visually impressive but ultimately flawed adaptation of a classic tale.
